How to Make a Macrame Plant Hanger
Materials:

Step 1: Cut 8 cords of cotton yarn, each 4 m long. Fold in half.

Step 2: Attach the cords to a ring by placing the looped cords under the ring then drawing the ends through the loop and around the ring (larks head knot).

Step 3: Separate the cords into 4 groups of 4; each group will be worked on individually.

Step 4: Grab one group of cords and create a half knot spiral 3.5 cm long, then thread a bead over the two centre cords and tie a knot around it. Repeat this process, adding beads every 3.5 cm until 4 beads have been added. Create one more 3.5 cm half knot spiral below the last bead.

Step 5: Repeat step 4 until all 4 groups of cords have been knotted and beaded.

Step 6: Taking 2 cords from one knotted section and 2 cords from an adjacent section, make a Josephine knot roughly 3.5 cm below the end of the half knot spirals. Do this until all sections have been knotted together into 4 Josephine knots.

Step 7: Taking 2 cords from one side of a Josephine knot and 2 cords from one side of another knot, tie a Josephine knot 3.5 cm below the previous one. Repeat this process until you have a total of 8 Josephine knots (including the ones from step 6).

Step 8: Gather the cords together and tie an overhand knot roughly 5 cm below the last set of Josephine knots. Trim ends leaving a 10 cm tail.

Step 9: Carefully insert the plant into the centre of the hanger and hang it.
