In this exploratory class, participants will create a watercolour painting inspired of a botanical scenery using a variety of expressive brushwork techniques.
Open to beginners and intermediates.
Ages 12 to 99.

Part 1: Material overview and watercolour crayon sketch
Gabrielle will go over the materials being used in this class. She will then demonstrate how to work out a loose composition using watercolour crayons.
Part 2: Watercolour painting using different brushes and techniques
In part 2, Gabrielle will demonstrate some colour mixing and how to create a painting with different applications of paint using a variety of watercolour brushes.
List of materials to bring:
✓ Watercolour paper (I used 140lb cold press)
✓ Watercolour paint (ultramarine blue, cerulean blue, cadmium yellow, warm red, hooker's green)
✓ Watercolour brushes (flat, round, fan - size depends on how big you are working)
✓ Paint palette
✓ Paper towel
✓ Jar/container of water
✓ Watercolour crayons or pencils
✓ Painting support (I used masonite board)
✓ Masking tape
✓ Photo reference (provided to you)
