A fun follow-up to our Intro to Graphite Drawing Course! In this two-hour workshop, you'll practice observational drawing skills to create a male portrait. Values, angles and shapes: all will be observed. A great workshop for learning how to draw a realistic portrait, and also, for discovering a brand-new product: the Lumograph Black Graphite Pencil.

Part 1: Placing your drawing
To begin, you'll create a check pattern to help you accurately place your drawing.
Part 2: Observational techniques
In Part 2, you'll explore the observation of values, angles and shapes to help you work your drawing and achieve the most accurate rendering possible. Next, you'll learn how to achieve the hair and beard effect. Julie will also explain and demonstrate observation tools and techniques.
Part 3: Final touches
Finally, you'll make the most important adjustments and details to make your drawing as realistic as possible. This is where you'll work with the new product for darker tones: the Lumograph Black Graphite Pencil.
