Open Acrylic - Medium Viscosity, 59 ml

Open Acrylics are a professional-grade, highly pigmented line of slow-drying acrylic paints that offer extended working time, making them ideal for techniques traditionally associated with oil painting, such as portraiture and landscape painting. Their slower drying time also makes them suitable for certain printmaking techniques.

Open Acrylics stay wet for longer periods, allowing artists to work with the same palette of colours for weeks if stored in sealed containers, reducing paint waste and preserving mixtures. Additionally, brushes left out for hours can still be cleaned due to the paint's unique formulation. Thick applications take longer to dry, so it is recommended to apply them thinly (less than 1 mm) or mix them with faster-drying acrylics like Fluid or Heavy Body colours to accelerate drying.

Characteristics:
  • Slow-drying: stay wet longer, ideal for blending and layering
  • Economic: requires less paint, reducing waste
  • Suitable for portraiture, landscape painting, and some printmaking techniques
  • Paint can be preserved for weeks in sealed containers; brushes remain cleanable even after hours
  • Not compatible with oil paints; avoid freezing the product

Beautiful colour. Far better than the quick-drying Golden. These are indistinguishable from oil paints.
